Partner and head of Lodders’ Real Estate group Mark Miller and associate solicitor James Leighfield acted for the consortium of landowners on the land promotion agreement with the developer, Godwin Developments. Jeff Paybody from Howkins and Harrison acted as land agent for the consortium.
Known as ‘South East Gateway’, the land benefits from an existing allocation of 32 acres in the West Northamptonshire Part 2 Local Plan (2020) for industrial, logistics, and business uses. It is positioned off the A45 London Road at the south-eastern entry point into the town.
Godwin Developments intends to transform the land into an ‘institutional-grade employment hub with strong ESG credentials’ and plans to work closely with West Northamptonshire Council and local stakeholders as it works towards submitting a planning application for circa 500,000 sq ft of employment space in the first half of 2024.
Commenting on the service provided by Lodders, Fiona Dennett who is a landowner in the consortium said: “Thank you for all your hard work – the communication has been exceptional between us all.”
