Louise Igoe

Short bio:

I am a partner and head of Lodders’ Private Client team.

I joined Lodders as a trainee in 2003 and went on to become the firm’s youngest ever Partner.

 I specialise in Wills, estate and succession planning, trusts, probate and estate administration, helping individuals and families plan for the future, protect their assets and pass wealth to the next generation.

 I have particular expertise in complex and high value estates, including those involving business and agricultural assets. I help families navigate the practical and tax issues that can arise, bringing clarity to complicated estates and guiding them through the administration from start to finish. This includes advising on inheritance tax, Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief, and dealing with HMRC where required.

 I enjoy getting to know my clients and understanding what matters to them and their families. Decisions about succession, family wealth and planning for the future are not always straightforward. I provide clear, practical advice, helping clients understand their options and make informed decisions with confidence. 

I am recognised as a Leading Partner by The Legal 500 and am ranked Band 1 for Private Wealth Law in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide. I am also a full member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and a committee member of its Birmingham branch.

 As a Director of Lodders Trust Corporation Limited, I am involved in the administration of estates and trusts and the management of financial powers of attorney. This enables me to support clients and their families where professional involvement is needed, often over many years and across generations.
