We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as part of our small but growing IT team where you will assist in providing technical support across the firm.

To ensure the seamless operation of IT systems by performing systems administration, providing IT support, and delivering technical projects. The role involves maintaining compliance with internal policies and the Data Protection Act, collaborating with internal departments, and liaising with external suppliers to meet the IT needs of the firm.

Key tasks/responsibilities

  • Systems administration: Perform installations, updates, and maintenance to prevent service interruptions and ensure optimal system performance.
  • IT support: Handle 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support for technical queries, resolving issues promptly and escalating serious concerns when necessary.
  • Supplier liaison: Coordinate with external suppliers regarding hardware, software, and services, staying informed of supplier updates.
  • Documentation and training: Create user-friendly training materials, document processes, and maintain accurate service desk records.
  • Project delivery: Support technical projects, analyse business problems, and recommend solutions to improve IT performance and prevent issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal departments to ensure IT needs are met and involve users in relevant projects.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of all data accessed, stored, or processed.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to changing business requirements, including occasional travel and out-of-hours work.

Knowledge/experience desired

Essential:

  • Proficiency in Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, and Office365 configuration.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere 7 and the MS Azure technology stack.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 and managing systems in line with data protection regulations.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks and networking basics (e.g., VLANs, router configuration).
  • Experience with legal applications like case management systems and digital dictation tools.
  • Proven ability to scope and deliver IT projects.
  • Relevant certifications such as MCP/MCITP.

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of five years in an IT role, preferably within professional services or a law firm.
